Introduction

Knowledge base is a central repository to store all of the facility's standard process, policies, forms and training materials. It is designed to work like the files and folders on your computer. Your system administrator will control how the folders are designed.


Actions is a sophisticated 'To Do' list that will guide staff through important workflows in the system, assigning tasks to individual departments to improve accountability.


Feature Details - Knowledge Base


  • Search and Sort

    Along with clicking through the folders, you can also use the search bar in the top left of the page to find what you are looking for. Search will look for the titles of all items in the knowledge base.


    You can also sort within a folder based on the following;

    • Alphabetical (default)
    • Folder first
    • File first
    • When the item was created
    • When the item was updated
  • Confidential Items

    Items can be marked as confidential so not all users have access, and can be controlled through roles.

  • Videos, Forms and Attachments

    The knowledge base has been built to be as immersive as possible, making it easy for staff to find what they need. To enhance this experience, videos, forms, and attachments can be included in a knowledge base item. They will be displayed in a box to the right of the screen.

  • Hints and Tips

    Video can be played while scrolling through an item for those keen to multi-task. Videos can also be expanded to full-screen mode.


    Forms will directly connect with your eForms module and open in a new window. This way, you can complete the form while still being able to read any related instructions.

  • Adding an action in Kindly

    To add an action in Kindly, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the Actions table using the left-hand navigation bar.
    2. Click the green Add Actions button.
    3. Complete the required fields.
    4. Click the save button to save the action.
  • Search, filter and sort

    Firstly, you can use the filters at the top of the actions table to narrow down the search results. 


    Secondly, you can use the arrows within the table to sort the actions by different categories such as action date or status. 


    Finally, you can use the search bar to find specific actions by typing in keywords or phrases related to the action.

  • What is the Knowledge Base in Kindly?

    The Knowledge Base in Kindly is a single source for all your company documents. It is a storage system that allows you to add folders and items. Within the folders, you can create webpages to upload text information, videos, files, or link to forms within Kindly.

  • How do you edit an item in the Knowledge Base?

    To edit an item in the Knowledge Base, select the item you would like to edit. On the view page, there will be a blue "Edit" button.
